AN ODE TO A FRIEND

Down back at the once green meadows
Budding and so full of innovation
In the bright April mornings where
Once we were in renovation.

With a few more lively amigos
Some lost some departed
Back in the pasturage
Where life once started.

Where in the deserted sands
We saw little feet grow
With every passing day
A new tale and more

Where happiness echoed
With the morning sun
Where together we combat
Sorrow and glum.

Where in an alienated land
We made our own diminutive place
Where through our jocund
Life took pace.

The relishing vista that forever enhances
The beloved, and my dear ones,
Those wet eyes, the repulse of desertion
The departing pain always lances.

An over whelming drive
I took down memory lane,
Lead me to the tear wells,
The enchanting place where once we dwelled

Gave me an awakening
To look by my side,
To count and relish the assets
I had by my abide

The mesmerizing memories that float
On with the drifting clouds
The golden moments I grip to
Despite the merciless time.
